The girl in the striped pyjama shirt.

IMG_5816.JPGStyling one of my favourite looks that has been on repeat lately, it’s the perfect look for a relaxed smart/casual vibe. When I’m spending time putting outfits together I always hang them from my wardrobe like this so I thought I’d photograph them and create a mini look book for you all. I actually came across this shirt in the sleepwear section at Topshop. It definitely has that “Can I borrow one of your shirts to sleep in?” feel which I love. It’s the ideal oversized boyfriend shirt. Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetThe stripes are vertical which are really flattering and theres a panel of thinner pin stripes from the waist below which is perfect because my hips are the widest part of my body so anything to slim those bad boys down are always welcome. I decided to team this look with some Mom jeans also from Topshop, I’ve been looking for a similar cut of jeans for a while with ripped knees and couldn’t seem to come across any so I reached for the scissors and hacked at these ones myself. I’m really enjoying wearing oversized shirts and jeans at the moment and they’re great transitional pieces to take me into Autumn.Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetAccessories always make an outfit, I completed this one with pretty dusty pink tones and lace details to make the look a little more girly and soft. I picked up these beautiful suede mules by Faith in Debenhams recently and they’re the new loves of my life along with these clear glass aviators and this silver metal choker which add a little edge. Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
For the Summer months and if you’re feeling a little more risky, this shirt is long enough to wear as a dress (I’m pretty tall and it was just about socially acceptable). Although I did get asked if I’d stayed at my boyfriends the night before and was wearing his shirt. (Still not sure how I feel about that).Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
My new babies arrived this week so I thought I’d also give them a feature. These trainers were definitely an impulse purchase but I couldn’t stop thinking about them and hadn’t really bought anything in a while (I can envision my boyfriend muttering ‘liar’ as he reads this). I like to style trainers with dresses or smarter looks to give a more contemporary and up to date feel on my outfits (plus I’m the grumpiest person on earth when I’m wearing uncomfortable shoes, that and being hungry and cold are the recipe for a monster.) Processed with VSCO with j4 preset
I’m obsessed with this dusty pink colour lately and seem to be magnetically drawn to every shade of it whenever I go shopping. I like to layer items in the same shade of a particular colour but different textures, so I love that these are satin. To finish this look on a sunny day I’d swap the aviators for my Miu Miu sunglasses (another impulse buy but I’ll admit I don’t have an excuse for those).

I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave your comments on this ‘sleepwear as daywear’ trend, I’d love to see how you’re styling it. Thanks for reading and make sure you’re back here next Sunday for another blog post!
