Are you desperately trying to cling onto the summer months like myself? If you’re looking to get more wear out of your favourite slip dresses, let this be your inspiration. In this blog post I have put together 4 different looks involving slips dresses, all styled differently to enable you to carry them through into the fresher months of Autumn.
1. 90’s inspired.
I bought this slip dress a while ago but have barely worn it because for some reason it’s been quite awkward to style. But this simple blood red satin dress works perfectly layered on top of this frill sleeved white t-shirt. I have paired this look with some statement mules, I love the chunky gold heel and have continued this gold theme through by adding this body chain to finish the look. I equally like to dress this down and wear it with my adidas sliders.
2. The minimalist.
I think this is my favourite look. I actually saw this styled on a mannequin in H&M, I was planning on going into the store and just picking up this dress but (well done to the visual merchandisers) I ended up buying the jumper too. If you read my last blog post, you’ll know how obsessed I am with this dusty pink colour and anything satin my bank card tends to throws itself at me.
For accessories I’d wear my clear aviators which I can’t stop wearing lately, they’ve been stuck to my face, I’ve also added a simple silver choker and a choice of either shoe (I couldn’t decide), these beautiful statement marble heel boots or some simple faux snake skin pointed stilettos. (The boots are comfier) (but snake skin)…
3. City smart
Okay, (I lied) this might be my favourite look. I love pairing smart trainers with dresses and my Adidas Stan Smiths complimented this Zara green patterned lace number perfectly as they have the green heel and logo. I added an origami style shirt to wear underneath which gives it a very smart/casual vibe. I bought this shirt a while ago but have never worn it as it’s cropped however I’ve recently realised this makes it perfect for layering.
4. Denim & Lace
I love creating juxtapositions in my outfits, so the soft dainty lace in contrast to the rough ripped denim in this look really tingles my pringle. I haven’t added any jewellery to this outfit (mainly because I don’t own much) but I’ve been eyeing up a tiny simple chain choker from topshop which would look really pretty. I finished this ensemble with my trusty black heeled sandals that are so comfy (I have actually ran in them) and my long oversized ripped denim jacket (oh so yeezy).
