Visual diaries: Interior // Minimalistic.

Today’s post is the first of a new section on my blog called ‘Visual Diaries’. I’m a very visual person and when I’m browsing through Tumblr I love collecting images and grouping them into various categories (I do also actually have a life). Whether that be wide groups of Interior, Architecture & Fashion or smaller more specific groups like Fashion details (e.g pockets) or Geometric Architecture etc.

This really helped me while I was at uni, sometimes when there is pressure on you to create something in a short time frame the process can start to feel unnatural and forced or your mind can just go blank. You then start to become more focused on completing the task and reaching a deadline and everything just turns into a mess and the end product doesn’t feel your own. Amazing ideas and creations don’t happen over night but you have to appreciate the time frame given and that’s where these visual diaries really helped.

In this case, when I was redecorating my bedroom I already knew exactly how I wanted it to look. My main source of images and inspiration came from Pinterest, however Tumblr and flicking through Instagram and Magazines gave me some fresher ideas too. I would use them as a bank of inspiration and by putting them in categories it made life so much easier and quicker for me. Whenever I needed to get some ideas for let’s say…a sleeve, I’d have a specific folder to get ideas from (this doesn’t mean clone btw…) *cough* Zara *cough*.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments if you’d like to see more Visual Diaries and if so, which categories would you like to see?
