Styling gingham – day to night.

hello

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week I have a fun post on how I like to style the new gingham trend, I recently bought these trousers in Zara (and haven’t taken them off since). Gingham print is literally everywhere at the moment and it’s almost impossible to try to avoid this trend, continue reading if you want to see how I manage to transition them from casual to smart without looking like a picnic basket.

Bonjour! I’m back with my final travel post (until I get a chance to escape again). My boyfriend surprised me and booked a long weekend away to Paris for my Christmas/2 year anniversary present. This was my first time in Paris so we did all the touristy bits but I’d love to go back and scout down some cool restaurants and bars etc. I hope you enjoy and get a good feel for our time there.

Visual diaries: Fashion // Deconstruction.

blog
If you read my last Visual Diaries post on Minimalistic Interior (or if you haven’t, click here) you’ll know that it’s a new section on my blog that I have decided to try out. While studying Fashion Design at university I tried to live by the quote I once read by Giorgio Armani – “To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly focused on the smallest detail“.

How to make a shirt less masculine.

In this blog post I’m going to show you my favourite ways I like to style a simple crisp white shirt. I really love the idea of gender free shopping and while shirts are normally quite a manly piece there are ways in which you can style things to suit your personal style and taste. In my eyes a white shirt should be a staple piece in everybody’s wardrobe, this one item of clothing can bring you many, many outfits. It’s considered a very masculine piece that should only (if ever) be worn by a woman in an office environment, but pair it with some skinny jeans and stilettos and it instantly becomes more sexy. As much as I love androgynous style I like to balance it with a slice of femininity too. I’m going to show you a couple of ways to wear and style a shirt to make it less masculine. If you’re intrigued, keep orrrn reading…

Autumn/Winter Lookbook.

The colder months are upon us! *Read in Jon Snow’s voice* Winter…is…coming.  This season is my favourite in terms of Fashion and styling, I love to layer and play around with different shapes, silhouettes, textures of fabric and the desaturated shades and colours that tend to appear at this time of year. Here are 3 outfits I’m going to be rotating throughout this Autumn/Winter, I hope you get some inspiration!

A Guide to Fashion Week SS 17.

So, Fashion Week is over for another season *sighs with relief* (but also with a little sadness). Fashion week always seems to have the best timing, I can get stuck in a rut with my style and get tired of the same trends, so as soon as Fashion Week arrives it’s always as if a light bulb flickers on above my head. I find myself suddenly on a roll, searching online for new looks and tearing my wardrobe apart. Looking through all the amazing collections (yes, every single show) I decided I wanted to create a diary of images. I sifted through each city, each designer, each collection, each ensemble, backstage too and picked the looks that I loved and was inspired by most. I thought it would be nice to look back at (plus a little more personal than flicking through Vogue) and hopefully for you all to get some inspiration and to implement that (even if it’s a beauty trend) into your Spring/Summer wardrobe.
